In Nepal, being one of the least developed countries in the world, existing medical care service has become the most complicated and challenging task. It is a well-known fact that the efforts of the government alone will not be sufficient to meet the health care needs. The people themselves should play active role if the dream of creating a healthy society is to be materialized.
In view of the prevailing situation of health care sector, no one can deny that the efforts of the government and the non-government sector including their proposed future program will remain unequal to the growing demands for health care. Taking this fact into account, different individuals engaged in the related fields felt the need of the non-governmental social service organization which can help easy, accessible and appropriate health care services to the common people who are still deprived of such facilities. As a result, Health care Foundation-Nepal (HECAF-Nepal) was established in 1994. HECAF is fully dedicated to providing health care services and broadly targets the common people of both rural and urban areas.
